It looks like Real estate mogul and Rove's last hope is dipping his toe into the pool that is the Colorado open senate seat. According to the Colorado Springs Gazette Liniger has formed and exploratory committee.

As Colorado Luis tells us - Salazar is doing well. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves in Colorado, especially if Liniger gets in. A Businessman in Moderate Republican Colorado is a good match-up against Salazar and will likely force him to exceed the $1 Million a month goal his campaign has set.

Why is this important? Well aside from the obvious hope for a Senate Majority and having the first hispanic senator since the 1940s Luis lets us know again over at the American Street: Colorado is becoming a battleground state again. While I don't think his pick (and mine) for Vice-President will get the nod, there is no doubt that Gary Hart and the Kerry Campaign should make an effort in Colorado.

In the mean time save some money to donate to Salazar while they get ready to get their website up. In the meantime you can donate to Kerry or donate to John Salazar, Ken Salazar's brother who is running for congress in Colorado's Third District.

My prediction - Salazar will still win even if Liniger gets in ... but with our help of course.

Jerome's Note: This is why I started blogging again. I just got back from a massively long day going to DC & back, and with Scoop, some great poster has an entry ready for the front page. Thanks to all the welcome backs. I just don't have as much time to post as I wish I did for now, so it's going to be a joint effort here, with my pulling a lot out of the diarys for the front page. What I'm aiming for, is a gradual getting back into the roll of things, hopefully, by around August, having the political gigs all ducks in a row, and able to concentrate on blogging... and yea Matt, a little different ending than 2002!
